Position Summary: 

Families Belong Together, a campaign of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, is a coalition that includes nearly 250 organizations representing Americans from all backgrounds who have joined together to fight family separation and promote dignity, unity, and compassion for all. Together we have raised millions of dollars for immigrant children and families, mobilized hundreds of thousands of people in all 50 states to take action, and helped to reunite thousands of families. We are working to permanently end family separation and detention, seek accountability for the harm that’s been done, and immediately reunite all families who remain torn apart. 

Fusing arts, culture and political organizing, FBT’s Cultural Organizer will organize and manage intentional, cohesive and collaborative partnerships with artists and storytellers. The ideal candidate is a passionate, creative and detail-oriented organizer. He/She/They care deeply about immigration and social justice while valuing the power of art and story. We’re looking for self-starters who can work well independently, as well as coordinate with others. 


Primary project manager for FBT’s creative actions, events and activations

  • Responsible for organizing and project management of creative actions and events including logistical planning, 3rd party coordination and scheduling, vendor expenses and payments and on site management on the day. 
  • Prioritize the centering of culture and creativity in process and tactics
  • Primary point of contact for participants- members, impacted individuals and artists
  • Liaison between FBT and FBT member organizations.  
  • Maintenance of planning documents and spreadsheets
  • Follow up reporting 
Job Requirements: 
  • At least 3+ years of organizing experience. 
  • Experience in the arts/creative/entertainment sector and/or as an artist/storyteller 
  • Excels at event planning and logistics. 
  • Project management expertise with experience managing outside vendors.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently and meet multiple deadlines with a keen attention to detail and organization. 
  • Comfortable interacting with a wide range of personalities including high profile influencers as well as members of impacted communities. 
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient, decisive and yet adaptable.
  • Ability to collaborate on a high-performing team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative problem solver. There is no “can’t”, only an opportunity for a pivot. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and Google Suite preferred. Experience communicating with a team across multiple channels (Slack, What’s App, etc).
  • Alignment with NDWA’s vision and values, including a commitment to economic, race, ethnic and gender justice. 
  • Experience in immigration a major plus. 
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Spanish language a plus.
